Our Programmes
Five integrated programmes designed to meet survivors where they are — and walk with them toward healing, safety, justice, and independence.
Why Integration Matters
Survivors' needs are interconnected. Safety, justice, healing, and economic stability must be addressed together to produce sustainable outcomes. Siyelapheka's programmes are designed to complement and reinforce each other — because no single intervention is enough.
Legal Support Programme
We provide survivor-centred legal assistance that prioritises safety, dignity, confidentiality, and informed choice. Survivors are supported as rights-holders — not passive beneficiaries.
What We Provide
- Protection orders
- Criminal complaints and reporting
- Maintenance matters
- Court preparation and accompaniment
- Referrals to justice sector partners
- Legal information and rights education
Every survivor has the right to make informed decisions about their own legal journey. We provide information, options, and support — without pressure or judgment.
Psychosocial Support & Healing
Healing is a journey — and we walk it with survivors. Our trauma-informed psychosocial services prioritise survivor autonomy, safety, and long-term wellbeing.
What We Provide
- Counselling and emotional support
- Crisis intervention and immediate stabilisation
- Safety planning
- Ongoing case management
- Family and child-focused support
- Referrals to specialised mental health services
All our practitioners are trained to work sensitively with trauma, ensuring no survivor is re-traumatised by the process of seeking help.
Safety & Protection
For survivors whose safety is at immediate risk, we facilitate coordinated protection responses that reduce exposure to further harm and ensure access to safe environments.
What We Provide
- Emergency referrals to appropriate services
- Safe spaces and transitional shelter support
- Coordination with social services and care centres
- Safety planning tailored to each survivor's situation
- Partnerships with shelters and emergency responders
If you are in danger, call the GBV Command Centre free on 0800 428 428 (available 24/7) or contact us directly on +27 665 934 159.
Prevention, Education & Advocacy
We address the social and institutional conditions that allow violence to persist. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, we contribute to longer-term prevention and systemic reform.
What We Provide
- Raise awareness on GBV, survivor rights, and human rights
- Promote gender equality and respectful relationships
- Engage men, youth, and community leaders as change agents
- Advocate for stronger, survivor-responsive systems
- Community education workshops and campaigns
Women's Economic Empowerment
Economic vulnerability is a key driver of continued abuse. Siyelapheka supports survivors to rebuild sustainable livelihoods, because economic independence is a critical pathway to safety and dignity.
What We Provide
- Skills development and vocational training
- Income-generating initiatives
- Financial literacy and budgeting education
- Livelihood support and business mentorship
- Links to economic opportunity networks
When a woman is economically empowered, she has more choices — including the choice to leave a dangerous situation and build a new life on her own terms.
Safeguarding & Confidentiality Commitment
Siyelapheka Organisation is committed to survivor-centred, trauma-informed practice, strict confidentiality and ethical conduct, child protection and safeguarding, and full compliance with South African law.
All personal information is handled with care and respect, and disclosed only with informed consent or where legally required.
